Peake Villa AFC, Manager/Coach. Thurles.

As manager/coach of Peake Villa AFC (Tipperary Southern & District League) I knew we needed a strong pre-season if we were to compete to win the league. Following a conversation with a club member I went to have a look at a 60 min training session being run by Pat John at Thurles kickboxing club.

As a qualified personal trainer I was seriously impressed with the intensity and variety of the session, it had everything, including a good warm up, stretching, flexibility, strength and conditioning work and great intensity in the cardio and most importantly discipline. We set up 2 hourly sessions a week for 6 weeks and I firmly believe it was the foundation on which our first TSDL title in 9 years was achieved.

No matter what level of fitness you are at or what age you are Pat John and his team can help you achieve your goal. A testament to the value of these sessions was that many of the players continued to attend the regular classes at the kickboxing club after pre-season.

Paul Kavanagh.

Head Coach - Fethard Rugby Club, Fethard.

When Fethard J2 rugby team started working with Pat John McCoole (Thurles kickboxing head coach) for our pre season training it was clear from the beginning we were being trained by an expert fitness trainer. Weekly he challenged the squad with new routines and motivated them to complete his challenges and reach their goal as a team.

The team was amazed at the difference in their level of fitness and unlike previous seasons we have won all our opening games and this is largely due to our higher level of fitness and strength and conditioning. I would highly recommend Pat John to any team and we look forward to training with him again in the future.

Business Owner, Thurles, Co.Tipperary.

I have been training with Thurles kickboxing Club for over four years and I can't express enough how important the training is to my over all health. Pat John's (coach) knowledge of every aspect of Kickboxing and his foundation of physical fitness training shows in the quality of every training session.

He has helped me reach many of my personal goals while keeping my workouts current and energetic. Pat John also trains my two sons in kickboxing and they find it fun and rewarding. They hate to miss a class and wish they could do it more often. I would recommend Pat John to anyone who wanted to work to improve his or her health in an enjoyable and challenging setting.

When I joined Thurles Kickboxing Club earlier this year (2010), I joined a great bunch of people of different ages and experience levels at the sport, but all easy going and willing to help and encourage. The instruction received from Pat John and the other instructors is excellent and they make the most noivice of people feel comfortable, confident and at ease. I feel kickboxing is a great way of keeping fit and having fun.

I am 35 years old, and have been training at Thurles Kickboxing Club for the last two years (2008-). I joined the club after my son Thomas (10yrs old) started. After watching Thomas training in the kids class, I could see the benefits both physically and mentally, in him training and so I decided to give it a go myself.

I have found it to be a brilliant form of exercise as well as a great way to socialize. The club is very open to helping people of all fitness levels and experiences to reach their own goals, and from a personal and parental point of veiw I have found it to be an excellent sport for fitness, fun and self-confidence.

Since joining Thurles Kickboxing Club 3 years ago (2007), I have to say it's the best form of physical exercise I have ever done. For me its quite intense and challenging and very rewarding. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in getting fit and as a woman its also a great way of learning self-defence.
